Braxton Stewart, from Fairview High, was proudly recognized during Military Signing Day at Cullman County Schools for his commitment to serve in the United States Navy.

Braxton will pursue a path in nuclear engineering, and was honored with an impressive $70,000 enlistment bonus—an incredible achievement that reflects his dedication, work ethic, and bright future ahead.

We are proud of Braxton’s decision to serve our country and wish him all the best as he begins this exciting new chapter!

Congratulations to West Point Middle School for winning the 2026 Mission Alliance Drone Wars Competition, held today at Wallace State! Hanceville Middle School earned an impressive Runner-Up finish.

Additional awards included:

It was an incredible day showcasing the outstanding drone skills of our students—every school represented did a fantastic job! A special thank you to Wallace State College for hosting such a great event, and to the Hanceville High School students who assisted with setup, tear down and helped throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to Cold Springs High School for being recognized as a School of Distinction by the Council for Leadership in Alabama Schools (CLAS)! 32 schools were regognized statewide. The CLAS Banner School program was created in 2001 to recognize schools in Alabama that showcase outstanding programs and service to students. Cold Springs was recognized for its 1936 Club. Great work Eagles!
